A Little Book About Love, Patience and Noticing
Dakota’s Way is a heartwarming children’s story inspired by the quiet magic found in nature—and by Dakota, a gentle, curious dog with a special way of noticing what others might miss.
As Dakota explores her garden, she discovers a hidden world filled with lively animals, wise trees, glowing lights, and unexpected friendships. Through every adventure, she learns that kindness, courage, and wonder can be found all around us when we slow down, listen, and follow our own path.

About the Author *
Stefanie Crowbright is the author and illustrator of Dakota’s Way. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Stefanie has always found inspiration in animals, nature, and the quiet moments that often go unnoticed.
Her love for her dog, Dakota, and their time together in the garden inspired her to create a gentle story about kindness, patience, friendship, and connection. Every illustration in Dakota’s Way began with Stefanie’s own photography, capturing the animals, flowers, and natural details that inspired the story.
Through her writing and watercolor-inspired illustrations, Stefanie hopes to encourage children and adults alike to slow down, look closely, and discover the everyday magic all around them.
Illustrations
The illustrations in Dakota’s Way were inspired by Stefanie’s own photography of Dakota and the real-life chipmunks, birds, and other creatures that visit her garden. She devoted great care and attention to drawing, refining, and bringing each scene together to create the gentle watercolor aesthetic the story deserves. Every detail was thoughtfully shaped so readers can slow down, look closely, and enjoy the beauty, warmth, and softness of Dakota’s world.
